These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and ERead Assist ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the ERead Assist website and apps (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an ERead Assist account. If you are between 13 and 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf. Children under 13 may use ERead Assist only when supervised by an adult who holds the account.
2. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us if you suspect unauthorised access. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms.
3. Subscriptions and billing
ERead Assist is offered as fixed-term Premium passes, sold in three durations:
- Premium · Weekly — £3.00 for 7 days
- Premium · Monthly — £5.00 for 30 days
- Premium · Yearly — £29.99 for 365 days
All prices include applicable taxes. Premium passes do not auto-renew. You can purchase a new pass at any time. Payments are processed by Stripe (and other providers we add in the future); we do not store your full payment card details.
4. Refunds
The Premium · Weekly plan includes a 7-day money-back guarantee — if you are not satisfied with your first weekly pass, contact us at forrestacres2023@icloud.com within 7 days of purchase and we will refund you in full. Monthly and yearly plans are non-refundable except where required by law.
5. Your content
You retain full ownership of any books, notes or recordings you upload to ERead Assist ("Your Content"). By uploading, you grant us a limited licence to store, process and display Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not sell Your Content and we do not use it to train AI models.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload material you do not have the right to use (e.g. pirated ebooks).
- Use ERead Assist to harass, abuse, or transmit unlawful content.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service.
- Share your account credentials with others.
7. AI features
ERead Assist uses third-party AI services (currently OpenAI) to power the voice coach, definitions and pronunciation feedback. AI output may occasionally be inaccurate. We do not warrant that AI-generated content is error-free and you should not rely on it for medical, legal or safety-critical decisions.
8. Service availability
We aim to keep ERead Assist available 24/7 but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance, third-party outages, or unforeseen events may cause temporary downtime. We are not liable for losses caused by such interruptions.
9. Termination
You may close your account at any time from the Account page. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms. On termination, any active Premium pass will continue until its expiry unless terminated for serious breach.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app. Continued use of ERead Assist after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless local consumer law gives you stronger protection.
